THE GREAT DETOUR! via Budlaan - Busay - Sirao Road

Image
In what was supposed to be a very nominal ride to Asturias, where we would be spending a night on the property of our friend's cousin, turned into an explicit-laden misadventure of hellish proportions. The trip was to traverse the legendary-and-mythical Transcentral Highway (TCH) but unfortunately for us, a large tree fell that blocked the highway on both lanes, and causing electrical lines to domino. Moreover, the next nearest route to the destination is a long 100km stretch opposite from our roadblock. We had to find a "shortcut" across the mountains and found one (via Budlaan - Busay - Sirao Road), with utter disregard to the unknowns. Near-disaster ensued... Road blocked by landslide... And here's our detour route I plotted in Google Maps: Have you tried this route? Tell us about your story on the comment section below.

One of Cebu's Best Local Delicacies That You Should Try!

You know that craving that's so irresistible and so gratifying, you can't seem to stop thinking about it. A day's happiness is left dangling without fulfilling that one desperate, devoted yearning of goodness.    Well, today's that day and " Bibingka sa Dawa " is all worth the 140km roundtrip! "Bibingka sa Dawa" is a local delicacy from Asturias, Cebu that is made of dawa (millet) instead of glutinous rice. It has a soft texture once you get them in the mouth. You can ask for a fresh from the oven bingka. It is more tasty and more delightful to eat while it is still hot. It won't be difficult for you to find them since they're usually along the highway. I plotted a direction in Google Maps from Shell Lahug to Barangay Uwak, Asturias. What local delicacies are you craving for? Tell us about your stories on the comment section below.
